In order to get in the habit of doing reality checks, you will have to do a reality check every hour you are awake for a least a week.

It is easier to remember during day than it is during a dream and if you don't do reality checks during the day then you will forget to do them during a dream.

Here are some things you can maybe do while you are in a lucid dream.

You can practice drawing in lucid dream and come up with new ideas for some pictures.

You can play the keyboard in a dream and compose new music.

If you are an athlete you can use lucid dreams for practice time. You can practice basketball, baseball or any kind of sport.

You can practice playing a video game you want to become good at.

You can explore your dream world and try experiments in the dream world to see what happens.

You can make up a new story in the dream with the help of your unconscious mind.

You can learn about your past life in lucid dream.

You can fly around with anything in a lucid dream.

You watch a movie that your unconscious mind makes up.

You can go on adventures with you dream characters.

Here are two reality checks you can do You can look at some words, look away then look back. If the words have changed then you might be dreaming. If the words did not changed then you are probably not dreaming.

You also try to look at the time, look away, and look back at the time. If the time went backwards or there are big changes in the time then you might be dreaming. If the time stay to same or went forward a little bit then you are probably not dreaming.

So words always change in a dream and time changes a lot in a dream.
